~ PCIC @ Gohtong Jaya ~
|
|
25th IDC-PCIC was held at Gohtong Jaya in mid May. The cool fresh air and green scenery was very conducive for discussions and brainstorming sessions. It was a pleasant respite from our busy working lives. Throughout the weekend, we had brainstorming sessions to discuss ideas for the activities and concepts behind the camp. PCIC is not all work, it is about play too! We first played charades as an ice-breaker (or more like a wake-up call, since most of us were still half dazed after waking up so early on a Saturday morning) and enjoyed it so much that we did a repeat of it in the wee hours of Sunday morning! We also celebrated the June babies namely, Alex Tan’s and Keng Yan’s birthday with a midnight toast!
All in, we managed to accomplish the objectives of PCIC and enjoy the company of beautiful friends at the same time. Now, are you joining us for the next PCIC?

~ Wesak Day ~
|
|
This Wesay Day, I was blessed by 2 Lama both from Tibet i guess... first I followed my parents to this Tibetan centre, I think its named Thrangu Dharma Society. Its not easy getting all the Tibetan names correct! Then for lunch, I headed to BGF for potluck to showcase my mom's signature angkukueh doh.. yeah on the night before mom made 300++ angkukueh for free for the Tibetan centre.
Anyway, back in BGF, in time for blessing by Lama again.. this time its not drinking drips of water but eating bits of spices.. well may all beings be blessed in everyway always!

~ Ajahn Brahm's seminar ~
|
|
The first picture that I took, is really a stunner.. I didn't expect Ajahn to pose for the camera I just thought of shooting for a short video clip with the banner Ajahn is reallly happy-go-lucky-person. His charisma can be felt across by the 500++ participants in the seminar hall.
I had a 5 second chance to share the stage with Ajahn Brahm, to promote abt the IDC its not so bad.. just have to keep calm and confident no matter what. Also good if I'd visually / mentality prepared of the stuff that I'd like to say. *phew.. that's a HUGE larga audience.
For Ajahn Brahm so be so comfortable and confident speaking on stage, is really inspiring, esp when he could reach out to almost everyone. It's not easy to doze off, unless of cos with a full stomach and sleepy head . Heard some new stories, went home and tried to retell the story, but it wasn't as funny as how Ajahn Brahm would narrate it.
The food was fantastic. Hey met Fei Fei too during lunch. Now I know sis. Ah Lan is close to Fei2.
Opps do I have to admit that I was blur enough that when I'm supposed to put up the ppt presentation, I didn't know how to switch the projected visuals from vidcam to laptop!! bummer.. the whole thing just went on so fast, I didn't have time to get help.
There were complains about the aircon too warm, but then I felt that if you're coming as a Buddhist - no complains lah.. a wonderful chance to experience mindfulness.

~*~ INCOVAR Family Day ~*~
|
|
11th April 2006 (Tuesday)
12.30pm - 3.30pm
at BGF Centre.
So what happened on this special day? Good thing that quite a number of them turn up and we had lotsa food for potluck! There's even leftover pizza that I could pack home together with my cake-container. Before we start eating, we celebrated Soo Teng's birthday (real day was the day before actually ) but she looks happy nonetheless .
The highlight of the day was the INCOVARoom softlaunch . Jo and I planned for CO to cut the ribbon, but he's so shy I dont know why , fortunately Alex came just in time. So we had both CO and Alex to cut the ribbon and that marks the opening of our INCOVARoom! It was abt stuffy, well it was blazing hot afternoon alright..
We we supposed to have Jayson, Denphong and AhBan to join us for webconferecing but the wifi connection is really very intermittant well, in a way, cant squeeze in so much in under 3 hours right? We had a nice full 30 minutes of relaxing tunes lead by Daniel Kwok, with the help of Siew Chan with his signature song! Who wouldn't get mellow listening to them... it was an opportunity for publicity of igemz cd!
All in all, it was a sweet day with joy, laughter and fellowship. Looking forward to organise outdoor activity in the near future with everybody join once again
because @ INCOVAR
...we inspire...
