In one morning - I managed to go merry-go-round Komtar area, found food at Chowrasta, teochew cendol nearby, checked out Nagar lane, rounding pulau tikus area, found gurney drive, found cheesecake shop, hop on to the ferry before heading home

Kita perlu berfikir mengapa jerebu berlaku?adakah disebabkan Malaysia atau Indonesia? Fri 6-Oct-2006 08:07

~ Echoes of Buddhism II ~ The Concert in Penang ~

View all 42 photos...
Yay.. well took me almost 2 weeks to publish these photos

So here's the quickie story:

Supposed to have 4 cars going, so that could fit more supporters from PJ/KL to witness the one-in-a-million Buddhist concert in Penang, but up until 2 days before the departure date, I only have 2 cars left So anyway, my car went straight to Penyayang Komplek, to hand i.gemz all their stuff. Then I got helpers to set up / jaga the INCOVAR counter for me, so I went for vegetarian dinner with my BM cousins who came all the way to island with their mom to watch the performance!

Of course it was a great show according to my cousins, who're not really exposed to Buddhist hymns, let alone contemporary style of hymns, in English .. wahlauegh... must be an eye opener for them. I'm glad they bought the igemz cd (original no copy!!) and enjoyed all the songs, esp BOMH. With that, my personal aim for this trip is achieved.

The other bigger goal for INCOVAR to reach out to more youths.. hmm, there were more aunties and really young kis..

wait a minute, so how was THE CONCERT? No comment la... I'm partly guilty for leaving Lee Meng alone outside jaga the counter while I happily trigger away my S2IS, silently complaining about the dodgy lightings effects that made all my pictures looked really

Then there's this 'girl', I dont know who is she, maybe the 2nd official photographer, who blocked most of my view to get a snapshot of the stage. She could stand so long infront, she's the very-bold version of me. Ok, my camera not power enough to show off by stand right in the limelight, infront of the stage, with the butt facing the entire audience, including the video recorder!!

The concert ended very late into the night, and I didn't know where / how was I going to head to the place that I'm suppose to sleep, non of my passengers knew how to go. So Michael Lim to the rescue! Thanks ya, for really layan my every single request.

Also thanks to the organiser for allowing us a 'big' space / booth for our roadshow - Sukhihotu & bro Raymond! Thanks to Doreen who'd given the best directions to me on the mobile phone, on how to reach the concert venue without feeling stupid. All the other Penangkia.. haiya...

Pictures for day 1...leave ur prints!

totally enjoyed the trip.. except for the dreadful winding journey up / down Camerons.. left my packet of strawberry in another car .. took pictures with the tea & sky... stayed inside the tea plantation with no mobile coverage whatsoever.. living with the worms.. learnt how to play 'bridge'... confirmed I'm bad at drawing.. .. found out I'm not the most paranoid person alive...had lotsa photoshoot opportunity!

rating : would I come back again? only to bring my mom along..

You must know, some of the 'sampat' stuff that I could do, which is to edit some these pictures.. and then I sent for print. The output of the 8R-size panoramic printout was soo amazing to me this is truly one syiok sendiri incident... too bad printing is really expensive... else i'd love to print out alot more copies, have my signature pendown and give it to my friends! awww.... *how sweet*.. see how crazy I get?!

why la all black & white or sephia mode? give red red, green green a bit la.. Tue 25-Jul-2006 06:14

I went to Cambodia 2 yrs ago. Its a pity of the poor condition there. But you know what, went i chit chat with them, to my suprise, some of them can speak French, even Japanese fruently. And when i ask what they gonna do with the money they earned, they told me they wanna study. I am really touched. They poor but they are ambitious. This country gonna be great one day. The Cambodian food not spicy at all, but rather sweet and they like santan (coconut) mix with curry and even tomyam. The 'asam laksa' that tried is not at all spicy, and taste weird.

Well, just as we all know how poor they are, the chicken, prawn, duck.. are all very skinny... the cow in the farm and the stray dogs are all skinny.. looking around, hmm there's no fat people! It's great in a way, they eat healthy food?! Cos there's no McD at all, I was suggesting to my tourguide (who's very enterprising) to get a McD license to open the first McD here

In a typical traditional Cambodia meal, they have 'salted fish paste' + rice + ulam (raw vege / Malay style) + roast chicken. Like Malay style, we had to sit on the ground to eat.

Have you tried santan icecream? It's completely white in colour, I thought it was vanilla since it was milky.. but its made of coconut!

so ngam.. u all see funeral, wedding during ur trip?? but which one is wedding, which one is funeral? how's the food? good?? Tue 11-Jul-2006 13:52

~ Siem Reap ~ Visit to Tonle Sap Lake ~

the road condition all the way to the lake

View all 15 photos...
The purpose of this morning excursion is to have a feel of what's it like living in a floating village. Our Khmer guide was quick to comment that there's a minor population of Vietnamese refugees .. but its impossible for me to identify who's Viet and who's Khmer. According to my tourguide (Tim), the language spoken is different, so its easy to know.

Anyway.. I cannot imagine myself living in this village, so there..

Tonle Sap Lake... erm... i think i read abt it before... izzit the biggest lake in south east asia? Tue 11-Jul-2006 13:57
