~ Hong Kong ~ homestay hostel

the room was sooo tiny, if all 4 of us stand together with all our luggages, there's no more room to walk. I couldn't even fit the whole room view into my camera... i forgot to take picture of the mini toilet too.. the hostel we stayed at is managed by the Dai family.. who came from Indonesia but made a living in Hong Kong. Jacky is their son who runs the hostel, he's very helpful with travellers like us. So much to communicate with this family.. yeah i used mandarin... the uncle and aunty's cantonese doesn't sound very fluent..

~ Hong Kong ~ all modes of transportation

i took a wrong bus when i first arrived macau, then switched to taxi (not very smart taxi driver he keep repeating our president was Thaksin, and i dunno what's Abdullah in Chinese).. then took speedboat ferry to HK. In HK we took MTR (underground), KCR (like our Komuter train), doubledecker electric tram, funicular tram, the old penang-style Ferry across the water, the really minibus, the doubledecker aircon bus and the cable car too!

i stayed in Argyle Street which is a really busy street, just a few steps away from Ladies Street... u cannot imagine the swarm of human beings crossing the road when the traffic light turns green.. u'll get knock down if u stand still in the middle of the road! i'm just overwhelmed by the large crowd of people.. good thing these people actually follow the traffic light rules .. i feel like i came from a kampung...

what I liked most was the dolphin & sea lion show.. the sea animals were really intelligent! just wish i could swim in the water with a dolphin someday.. the rides were not scary, and the 'abyss' spaceshot 60m vertical drop scare was quite worth a shot at rollercoasters like.. ahem... having the chance to meet sharks and panda bears was well worth the money I guess... I just get impatient for waiting in queue really long just for a really short not-so-thrill ride.

Big March in Hong Kong

View all 12 photos...
Sun (4Dec), Hong Kong : wow... i've not seen such a peaceful march before, from one end of the street up till I dunno where... I was trying to snap some pictures like the paparazzi, it was not 'scary' at all.. cos all they wanted is nothing violent. The people faces were smiling, except the lady with the loud speaker yelling all the way 'old-people-need-voting-rights' i thought the country was very "caring" for old people as I thought the march was for old people... later the hostel owner was telling me that anyone who's unhappy with the government will be there, ie. people with pay cut, jobless etc. The policemen were standing all over the places monitoring, they even warn me to be careful. Its like nothing serious for the police, just walking around keeping an eye on the crowd probably will never see these type of political march here back home. Hostel owner was surprised to hear what a 'peaceful' country I came from.

World Champion & World #1 - Nicol David!!

View all 6 photos...
Sun, 4 Dec, HK : I saw Nicol David with her champion trophy! Another Malaysian in Arena of Star in HK that night but she's sooo famous now, there were many chinamen trying to take pictures with her... me & my cousin sis only 2 girls trying to take pictures with her the squash final was played on this open space, with big giant screen for public to watch, with the HK cityscape as the backdrop.. it was cool. I killed 4 birds with 1 stone at that time... watching the symphony of lights, while watching squash, while having mcD dinner, while meeting Nicol David all the same place what an interesting night.
